Lily drew a double sided axe.

PS: Five to Gryffindor!

PS: I believe we should make this the last question. A tie-break. Draw the Viking rune 'Sewels', and an extra point if you can tell me what it means.

Evangeline rapidly drew a lightening bolt shape on the board.

E: Wholeness!

PS: Six points, Miss Loveridge! Now be seated please.

Lily sat down, looked slightly put out, but the perpetually friendly smile was still on her face.

Sirius grinned at her as she was seated, and she returned it, because that's just how she was.

PS: Now you should all know by now that Viking runes are commonly accepted as the standard when learning the basics of this subject, but series such as Orlanthi and Pictish are understood as runes of a darker nature, used in spells and divining the future. 

He handed out sheets depicting the Orlanthi runes.

PS: I'd like the meaning of these runes written for next lesson.

Remus folded his paper quickly and put it in his bag, while Evangeline folded hers neatly, making sure the edges were completely aligned before placing it in her satchel.

Lily left the classroom first eager to reach her next class.

A: That was so cool Evangeline.

She folded her sheet and pocketed it.

S: Hmph.

He couldn't deny it, she was smart. His arm instinctively scratched the back of his neck, as it did when he was annoyed.

A: I've got a free next. Hope I don't bump into Jasmin.

At this point in time Jasmine cast Amy a sour look, as if she'd heard this.

Sirius left for Defense against the Dark Arts.

A: He's in a hurry.

E: Oh, you don't take Defence Against the Dark Arts? I would have thought it would be essential in the current circumstances.

Evangeline raised her eyebrows, careful not to even look at Sirius in the corner of her eye.

A: I wanted to take it, but I didn't do well enough in my OWL. I got distracted and ended up hexing Penny Dixon. 

She looked deflated.

A: It's okay. My dad knows a lot of stuff. He taught me basic defense anyway, so...

J: Nit enough, though.

Jasmine approached Amy with her arms crossed, sneering.

A: Oh buzz off. 

She snarled at Jasmine, and whirled out the door.

(Follow me to the lake bro)

(I shall do that in a second!)

E: Oh, I see.

Evangeline dropped the subject.

R: She uses her fists anyway.

(Not you. I'm at the lake for my free. Jasmine can follow me)

Amy sat at her desk and fished out her books.

Sirius sat down too.

Remus and Evangeline sat in their usual seats, smiling and waving to each other, seeing as they weren't sat beside each other. Both looked a little down, but happy enough.

Amy looked between them, that familiar tugging in her chest making her feel a bit ill.

Sirius wasn't paying attention.

As usual. Evangeline was beside Amy, who was beside Sirius, who was beside Remus. I checked.

E: Everyone done the homework?

For once she didn't exclude Sirius.

Sirius nodded, getting it out.

A: Wait, what was it?

R&E: The meaning of the runes she gave us

They laughed at their synchronisation.

Amy did not laugh.

A: Yeah. I did it.

She stared at her desk.

Sirius was starting to look a bit confused. Why were these two so chummy?

R: Oh, no... I've forgotten my quill. Can I borrow one from someone, please?

He hissed as he noticed the professor coming in. Evangeline slid one across the desk to him discreetly. She didn't notice Amy being mardy, or Sirius' face. He always had a weird face.

A: I would have lent you one.

She muttered.

R: Alright, thanks anyway, then.

Remus whispered back. Evangeline was engrossed in arranging her things.
