A: Just... kissed.

E: Okay, okay... Was it like a peck, or more of a... Uh... I can't think of the word you use... Make out?

Amy went an even deeper red.

A: It was quite the make out.

E: Amy, is this boy a player?

Amy shook her head feverishly.

A: Not at all!

E: And has he ever done this with another girl?

Amy thought about it.

A: No.

E: But he expresses an interest in doing it with you. And when you do kiss, does he talk to you, or does it seem like he's only interested in you for your body?

A: I... I...

She leant back in her chair.

A: It's not like... We do but it's...

E: Is he interested in you as a person?

A: Yes!

By now her whole body was an appealing shade of crimson.

E: So what you've got her is a boy, whom you find appealing, who likes the way you look so much that he wants to kiss you, also gets along well with you, cares about you greatly - what exactly makes you think it won't work?

Evangeline squeezed her hand, giggling.

A: Because it always goes wrong. It's always awkward and...

She looked forlorn.

E: Don't you think maybe that's because he feels the same way you do? That he's scared of messing it up as well?

She fiddled with her pencil.

E: Maybe you don't need to ask.

Evangeline nudged her with a knowing smile.

E: Maybe it'll be one of those things where you just look at each other and know.

With a sad smile, Amy scribbled out another label.

A: Oh?

E: Do you really want to stamp out your feelings for this boy? Everything you have, leave just friendship?

Asked Evangeline, quietly, in disbelief.

A: I think...

She put a full stop.

A: I think that would be best.

Evangeline didn't look convinced, but didn't argue.

E: In which case, I'd recommend no more making out.

A: Eh?

The disappointment was apparent.

E: If you kiss him then say you're just friends, all you're doing it confusing him, and yourself. No good can come of it.

Amy looked hopeful.

A: None at all?

E: Eventually a kiss on the cheek may be appropriate.
