RP Hogwarts Gazebo (Near t'lake)

J: Oh shit, sorry, I "forgot"...

He muttered sarcastically with an obvious look towards Sirius that indicated that Sirius had been quite intent on James "forgetting" it, for whatever reason. Turning to Sirius, he nodded discreetly, then slipped away to tty the new cool act on Lily.

Amy huffed off to find a chair.

L: You look dapper James.

Lily mumbled at the boy who was clearly trying too hard to appear so.

Evangeline told Sirius that she'd be back soon and went to stand with Amy.

E: Are you alright?

James immediately gawked out and ruffled his neatly combed hair.

J: Thanks!

A: Yeah.

She paused then began again.

A: Except I can't find my boyfriend and Sirius promised firewhiskey.

Her brown eyes found Sirius in the crowd and she glowered at him.

A: Bet he's hiding it.

L: No problem.

She shifted in her dress, obviously expecting a complement back.

Evangeline chuckled.

E: Well, I can't find Remus, but if I find Sirius' firewhiskey I'll certainly come and give it to you.

J: You're looking um... Tall

Amy smiled at her friend and looked around.

A: Go over and entice him. If he's got it he'll give you it. Use your feminine wiles.

She winked coyly and swished her hair.

A: You know?

Lily's eyebrows raised and she let out a little laugh.

L: Tall?

Evangeline smiled to herself and looked over her shoulder.

E: Should I?

She felt ever so naughty even entertaining the idea.

J: Yeah. Tall. Like a... tree. A really tall, gorgeous tree.

He grinned bashfully and took a half-step closer.

J: Look, Evans, I'm asking for one chance. Just one. You're not gonna pick Snivellus over me, right? He's such a butt trumpet.

Amy nodded enthusiastically and not just because she might be getting alcohol out of it. It would be very funny to watch

A: Yeah! He's over there look.

She pointed over at Sirius, who was in a very one-sided conversation with Jaspar Herald, a fifth year Hufflepuff, about the proper uses of daisy roots. He wasn't exactly pleased with this but if it meant Amy would stop pestering him for drinks it was worth it- he knew Remus would be mad if he let his girlfriend get drunk. Flashbacks of Amy table dancing and passing out on a broomstick made him shiver, and he sank back into listening to Jaspar.

J: ...so you see, if the roots aren't properly stewed, you simply won't achieve the right texture for a softening elixir- are you listening?

S: Of course!

Lily bristled, and crossed her arms.

L: I dont see Severus anymore, James, but that's not an excuse for you to... To pounce!

She reigned herself back in.

L: Besides, I don't see what you mean.

Evangeline looked between Amy and Sirius, a grin tugging her lips as she tried to decide the best course of action. If she sided with her beau, he'd be happy with her and Amy would be bored all evening. If she sided with Amy, everyone would be happy (albeit temporarily in Sirius' case, when he realised why she'd been so flirty with him). Okay, she decided, let's be naughty. With a wink, she sidled over to stand behind Sirius and put her hands in his pockets, chin resting on his shoulder to allow her to whisper in her ear.

E: Hi...

She purred, pushing herself against him. Something told her that that one honeyed word was infinitely more interesting to Sirius than Jasper's soliloquy on daisy roots.

J: About giving me a chance or him being a butt trumpet?

Sirius froze, standing a little straighter. Jaspar was still talking but Sirius had suddenly decided he had better places to be.

J: ...and I told him, I said that simply chopping the roots isn't good enough. You have to-

S: Actually, Jaspar, can I get back to you?

J: Well I-

S: Okay!

Sirius grabbed Evangelines hand pulled her away.

L: Both of the concepts are in need of explanation.

Evangeline allowed herself to be dragged, trotting along after him daintily in her little heels. When they came to a stop she took the opportunity to wrap her arms around his neck and press her lips to his jaw tantalisingly.

E: Sorry to drag you away...

J: I reckon you won't go out with me cos you're miffed about how I treat- treated Sniv- Severus. And he probably never did it around you but when he toots it's like a fog horn.

Sirius laughed, more of a sudden exhale, letting his fingers lazily trace patterns on her back.

S: I'm fine with it, believe me.

L: James!

She slapped his arm lightly but she was smiling.

L: That's not why.

E: Aren't I rather boring compared to Jasper?

She asked, fingers touching the back of his neck gently as her lips fluttered against the side of it.

J: Oh.

That had been his comfort blanket, his safety net. He could blame Severus, then. Now he couldn't.

J: What, then?

Do I wanna know...

Sirius tilted his head back to give her more access, pulling her closer to him softly.

S: Not at all.

Lily opened her mouth to answer then thought better of it.

L: James...

She didn't want to do this now.

E: Oh good... Sirius, you know I've never been drunk in my life?

James held his hands up.

J: Okay. I won't push it.

Sirius gently let his hands wander to her hair, fiddling with the stray wisps that weren't contained in the bun. He heard her speak and chuckled again.

S: I'm sure you drank at Christmas.

Lily softened.

L: I'm sorry.

E: I drank, yes, but I've never been drunk. Who knows what I'm like drunk...

She kissed him gently, hands trailing down his chest to settle in his belt loops.

J: No. Don't apologise. Don't be silly. Just... You can totally say no. I don't want you to feel pressured into it by my astounding good looks, but, Lily, can I kiss you at midnight? Please?

With that, his ears went red to the tips.

Sirius' heart was doing little flips as she uttered this, and he let her kiss him, mind drifting off to imaginative places. Maybe drunk Evangeline would be fun to see... He wouldn't take advantage of course, but he reckoned she'd be a lot less... He pulled away.

S: I can't... If Amy sees you she'll want some and then Remus will kill me.

He was wavering though.

Lily went red too, eyes widening along with her smile.

L: Oh! Oh, okay!

E: No one has to know.

Her nose nuzzled against his neck as her lips brushed the skin there, forming words against his nape.

E: Our secret...

J: Really?! Yes! I mean, thank you! I mean uh... See you at midnight. Babe.

With that he strode off before he could ruin the moment.

Sirius made a low humming noise, tilting her chin up so he could kiss her properly. As he broke away he muttered.

S: You'll be the death of me, woman.

L: Babe?

She tried to be mad but couldn't stop the butterflies in her stomach as she watched him leave. A kiss a midnight from James Potter!

E: No, that'll be your cockiness...

She kissed him again, lingering by his lips afterwards with her forehead against his.

E: So... Firewhiskey? Or will I once again ring in the New Year completely sober?

James was not allowed to rest on his laurels for long as Remus came in, head down and hoping not to be recognised. He looked drawn with hollow eyes, and James never ceased to be taken aback by how the lycanthropy manifested itself physically in his friend.

J: Shit, Remus. What are you doing here?

R: I thought I should try and see Amy before we go. Tell her I feel ill or something. Not exactly a lie.

Sirius sighed in defeat, kissing her nose.

S: Okay fine.

Amy was sat on a table by herself, picking at a cupcake.

Evangeline grinned and kissed him again.

E: Do you have it with you?

With a deep, shuddery breath, Remus approached her, trying not to look as if he would turn into a wolf in the next few hours.

R: Amy?

Sirius placed butterfly kisses along her neck.

S: I buried it over by those trees.

Amy looked up, then jumped to her feet, eyebrows furrowed.

A: Lupin what's the matter? Are you sick?

She placed a hand on his forehead to test his temperature.

E: ...buried it? Like a pirate?

She asked skeptically, leaning into his kisses and trying to stay on topic, though his lips were somewhat distracting.

Remus smiled in the way only Amy could make him.

R: Think I'm coming down with something. Sorry I'm late, I've been laid in a dark room.
