J: You aren't ugly but I don't fancy you. Unlike Lupin here.

Amy made a low grumble.

A: He doesn't!

She had gone fully maroon now. Her eyes widened as she glanced at her hand.

A: Oh look what you did!

J: I didn't do it, blame Remus' hormones!

R: MY HORMONES HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Several first years looked over at them, curiously. Amy glowered at them as she returned to her usual hue.

A: James, you've got to stop deflecting all this pent up... Whatever, onto us!

R: Exactly.

J: I see you're taking Amy's side...

A: Only because I'm right.

R: Yeah!

J: And again!

A: Listen, do you want me to get you and Lily together?

J: ...Yes please.

R: Then shut it.

Amy swung her legs off of Remus.

A: Right, I'll be her.

She changed into Lily's perfect copy (down to the nose), and stood.

James stood up. Remus wat he'd as he swaggered over to Amy/Lily with his usual grin


J: Evans, sup?

A: No no no! What? Sup???

She rolled her eyes.

A: Try 'hello'.

J: That isn't very me. Okay. Again.

He looked down, then back up at her with a boyish grin.

J: Hi.

R: Improvement.

Amy, as Lily, smiled at James.

A: Hello, James.

J: You're looking...

Foxy? Fine? Finger licking good?

J: Gorgeous, as usual, today.

R: Cheeky but not overly so, nice.

Amy gave him a thumbs up, and then dropped back into character.

A: Thanks. Er, James, do you know what's happening on the next Hogsmeade trip?

Hopefully chemistry between you and me.

J: I dunno, no plans. Maybe we could do something together?

R: Smooth.

A: Wow, yeah... Actually that'd be great!

She broke character.

A: How easy?

J: Relatively!

R: See? Not even remotely arsey!

J: Cheers mate.

Amy changed back, and sat back down, legs up in Remus' lap before he could protest. Not that he would.

A: You'll be fine if you do that. You could woo me if you really tried, James. You've got one of those faces.

She smiled at him.

J: Well shucks, you're making me blush. Thanks Amy.

He winked at her with a smile. Remus watched him. Hmph. So James could woo her if he wanted, of course James could, James the handsome one, the funny one, the athletic one. Hadn't Amy been trying to convince him that he was just as good as James and Sirius? That any girl would be lucky to have him, that's what she said. Hmph.

A: Of course, I don't fancy you.

She put on a masculine voice

A: You're not ugly.

J: Yeah yeah yeah, everyone knows I'm the prettiest.

James blew his hair out of his eyes. Remus tapped his finger on the arm of the chair, willing himself not to say anything.

R: What about me?

He failed.

Amy looked at him, and was about to reply, when Sirius stumbled in.

S: Oh my god.

R: She didn't punch you, did she?

J: I'd laugh.
