J: How was he?

A: I don't know... It was a rush...

James fixed her with a cold stare behind his glasses.

J: You ran away, didn't you?

A: What would you do, James?! I was scared!

That sounded bad.

A: Not scared... I...

She took a shaky breath and burst into tears.

People were looking over at her furtively, first at the Gryffindor table, then at the others. Eventually word got to Evangeline, who caught James' eye and mouthed "What's wrong?". He beckoned her over.

E: Amy?

She put her hand on her friend's shoulder.

J: Come on.

He led both of them into the hall.

Sirius sat down. Looks like Amy had already left.

Remus kept looking around for her - people seemed to be looking at him oddly. Oh, Merlin, what had happened? Fortunately Irrelevant Peter was on hand to explain the situation.

P: Amy started crying when James questioned her.

Peter was eating raw asparagus.

P: I don't know, I only got half the conversation. They went out there (he pointed) with Evangeline.

Remus looked uneasily at Sirius.

R: Please go find them. I don't trust James. I don't trust you either but next to you James looks responsible.

Sirius nodded and got up.

S: what should I say?

R: I- I don't know... Evangeline can know. She won't tell anyone. Just make sure Amy's okay.

Sirius ran off.

Sirius entered and sat opposite Remus.

Remus looked intently at his friends as James sat down and studiously avoided his gaze.

R: ...well? How did it go? What did they say?

J: Well, we took 'em outside, and uh...

James cleared his throat and elbowed Sirius.

J: Over to you, Padfoot.

S: Evangeline didn't take it as well as I'd hoped.

He gritted his teeth.

S: You know how she is.

R: I was counting on her being the calm one in the situation... your cheeks don't look pink, where did she hit you?

Sirius chuckled.

S: Never mind that, she called me a- what was it?

He looked at James.

J: Klootzpappen.

He said confidently.

S: I don't know what it means but it could be good, right?

J: She spat when she said it.

Remus smirked quietly.

S: Yeah.

He shuffled awkwardly.

R: And what about Amy?

S: She was...

he looked at James.

S: Fine.

J: Yeah.

He popped his gum.

J: Fine.

R: Liars. If she was fine, she'd be here.
