RP Hogwarts Express

After Sirius and Amy had both received a pumpkin pasty, and Peter a Chocolate Frog, the lady shuffled away. 

A: Mmph... sho... 

She swallowed a bite of pasty.

A: Sorry. So, do you think we'll have any new professors this year? I know Professor Hewitt retired, and I'm sure there's a new Divination wisp. 

S: Wisp?

A: They're a bit wispy.

E: My father knows the new Divination teacher, Professor Juniper. She's very good, for a Divination teacher, anyway. Some of her prophecies even come true. Very amusing lady.

She took another sip of her gillywater.

E: And she is very wispy, yes. She has this awful yellow scarf that she wears around her head, she looks like a Muggle hippie.

Sirius rolled his eyes

S: Insubstantial subject. Useless.

Amy nodded in agreement, but faltered.

A: I don't understand it, but I suppose it has its uses.

E: Yes, it's very useful for conning wizards and witches out of their money.

Evangeline rolled her eyes, hating that she was agreeing with Sirius.

A: I heard there are real see-ers. Or whatever they're called. My dad once told me that the ministry hires them and hides their prophecies.

Sirius laughed out loud.

S: Don't be stupid Amy, what use would they have for crooked prophecies?

Amy shrugged, and then leaned in, mysteriously, as if to recite a legend. She even made her face appear old and haggard, like a diviner.

A: I predict that a certain Sirius Black's next Bertie Bott's Bean... will be bogey flavoured!

Sirius snorted and flicked a bean into his mouth, chewing a few times.

S: Nah. Citrus!

J: How come you only ever get the nice flavours?

Remus checked his watch, then stood up.

R: I ought to go, we'll be stopping in the next five minutes. Ought to look as if I'm doing something useful.

James smirked. Remus made out like he didn't care, but he really did, and they all knew it.

J: Yeah, yeah, run along Moony.

He did, striding out with a smile on his face. Evangeline got up and stood on her tiptoes to try and get her bag down. Alas, she wasn't tall enough. Remus had put it up on top of their cases, so it was higher than she could reach. Remus was the tallest of the bunch and he'd gone, so he couldn't reach it. James, Peter and Amy weren't tall enough to reach it. She tutted. She refused to ask Sirius. James noticed her struggle.

J: Need a leg up?

E: I'm wearing a skirt.

J: Okay, but I didn't ask what you were wearing, I asked if you needed a leg up.

Sirius looked up, obviously at war with himself.

S: I'll get it down, if you like.

His voice was only slightly venomous, but he still looked annoyed. 

Amy smiled encouragingly at him, shuffling into Remus' seat so she could put her legs up.

Evangeline turned on her heel, pressed her lips together into a form line as she thought, then, coldly and turning quickly from him:

E: If you would, please.

Sirius smiled curtly at her, and stood up. He was taller than her by quite a bit, and made sure to not show any signs of effort as he lifted the bag down and placed it on the floor.

S: You're welcome. 

He sat back down.

A: That was nice of you Sirius.

She whispered so that he could hear her, but he didn't respond.

E: ...Thank you.

Evangeline replied tightly and sat with her bag by her feet, waiting for the train to stop. After three minutes or so, it did.

Peter moved first, dragging his bag down, then offering to help Amy, who accepted his assistance. Her owl, Hippolyta, hooted, annoyed, as she lifted her cage, and took hold of her aged suitcase, which was pasted with Gryffindor crests. 

S: Shift Amy.

She obliged. He pulled his bag down and set it on the floor. He was the first to depart the compartment.

James rolled his eyes and let Evangeline go before him, which she did with a smile. Remus was on the platform, and James passed him his bags.

R: Thanks, James.

J: No problem, mate.

A large man was shouting on the platform:

Bloke: First years! First years over here!

Another teacher was shouting, too

Teacher: Second years and above into a carriage, hurry up!

Evangeline looked between them.

E: Do I go with them or with you?

J: Well you could always ask Professo-

Man: Georgina Loveridge over here, please!

Evangeline dashed off and grabbed a small boat on her own. James jumped into a carriage with Sirius, Remus, Peter, and Amy. On the river, they could clearly make out the silhouette of someone a lot taller than the squat little first years in a boat alone on the lake, on her way to Hogwarts. The carriage set off.

James and Remus turned to murmur to Sirius.

R: You're gonna try and bag Evangeline aren't you?

J: He never could resist a girl determined to hate him.

Sirius snorted.

S: Come on guys. What girl can resist the charms of me, Sirius Black?

Amy raised her hand.

S: You don't count. She's clearly delusional. Just watch, she'll come round.

J: I doubt it, mate.

R: We already have one girl who rejects one of us, why do we need another one? Isn't Lily enough?

J: Lily's coming around. Shut up.

They arrived at Hogwarts.
